Hero For Christ |
November, 8th, 2008 Viewed 438 Times Open Mic:Scheduleby Chris SunamiWe are midway through our fifth season and we are generally on site every Monday during the school year. Please join us any Monday at 7pm for free shows, vocal lessons, drum lessons and guitar lessons!First Mondays: “Talent Showcase” and/or “Competition” - This is our big event for the month, and features a larger audience, a more formal program and songs that the participants have worked on during the entire previous month. Policy: Please wear formal clothes or a performance costume of some sort if you are able. This establishes the event as an important and special occasion, and increases the entertainment value of the performances. Please invite at least five people. People work hard for this event, and deserve a wider audience. Please sign up in advance, and perform something that you have rehearsed thoroughly. This is the event we work towards, and we should offer as professional an experience to the audience as possible. Second Mondays: "Song Selection Rehearsal Week" - This is the week when performers select new songs and begin to rehearse them. Second Wednesdays: "Open Mic" – A casual, informal performance. The theme of this week is that everyone can be a performer, and that everyone is welcome to share their talents. Third Mondays: "Advanced Rehearsal" – This is a time to work on performance enhancements and refinements, such as choreography, and to put a final polish on the act for the talent showcase.[/i] Group Lesson: A shared performance/rehearsal time. Fifth Mondays: Instrumental Jam and/or Community Singalong – A chance to share the joy of music with the larger community in a informal, open setting. We are persistent and consistent in presenting our program. This builds a sense of stability and encourages the organic growth of our program.
