Hero For Christ ![]() Barack Obama | InclusionLuke 10:29 -37 But the scholar sought to justify himself and said: Who then is my neighbor? And Jesus answered and said: A certain man was attacked by thieves while traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. They wounded him, stripped him of his clothes, and left him for dead. By chance he was passed by a priest, who saw him and crossed to the other side of the road. The same thing happened with a member of his own community, who came and looked at him, and crossed the road as well. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, had compassion on him, and went to him, and cleaned and bandaged his wounds, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And in the morning when he left the inn, he gave money to the host and told him to take care of the wounded man, saying: Whatever you spend beyond this amount I will repay you when I return. Now among these three, which was the neighbor to the wounded man? The scholar replied: He that showed mercy to the man. Then Jesus said: Go, and do the same. Matthew 8:5 -13 (Luke 7:2-10, see also Luke 13:29) When Jesus went to Capernaum, he was visited by an officer of the Roman army, who said: Lord, my beloved servant is at home, sick with the palsy, and in great torment. And Jesus replied: I will come heal him. The Roman officer answered, saying: Lord, I am not worthy for you to come under my roof, but speak only the word, and my servant will be healed. For I am a man with authority, a commander of soldiers, and when I order a man to go, he goes; or when I order another to come, he comes; or when I tell my servant to do a thing, he does it. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed, and said to his followers: Truly I have not found faith such as this, not in all the nation of Israel. And I tell you, many shall come from the East and West and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast into the outer darkness, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said to the Roman officer: Go your way, and as you have believed, so shall it be done. And the servant was healed at that very moment. John 4:7 A Samarian woman came to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink. She said: How can you ask me for a drink, when the Jews despise the Samaritans? Jesus answered: If you knew the gift of God, and who has asked you for a drink, you would ask him, and he would give you living water. John:4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in him because of what the woman told them, saying: He told me everything I have ever done. So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he was their guest for two days. And many more believed in him because of what he told them. So they said to the woman: Now we believe, not because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Messiah, Savior of the world. John:10:16 I have other sheep, not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they shall hear my voice, and there will be one fold and one shepherd. Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus said: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teach them to follow all the things I have commanded you, and I will be with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. ![]() Top ![]() Back ![]() Next |
