Ears to Hear
Matthew 13:9 (Mark 4:9, 23)
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 13:10-11 (Mark 4:10-11)
The disciples asked him: “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
Jesus answered: “Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but not to them.
Mark:4:24 (Luke 8:18a)
And he said to them: “Pay attention to what you hear, for the measure you give is the measure you will receive, and unto you that hear, more shall be given.”
Matthew 13:12 (Mark 4:25, Luke 8:18b)
For whomever has, to him shall more be given, and he shall have abundance: but whomever does not have, from him shall be taken even what he has.
Matthew 13:13-15 (Mark 4:12)
Therefore I speak to them in parables: because seeing they see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: ‘By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive.’
For these people’s hearts are bloated, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes are closed, so as to prevent them at any time from seeing with their eyes and hearing with their ears, and understanding with their hearts, so that they should be converted and I should heal them.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For truly I tell you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.
