Light of the World, Salt of the Earth



Luke 11:35-36

Take care that the light which is in you is not darkness. If your whole body is full of light, having no dark part, then the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle gives light.



Luke 8:16 (Mark 4:21, Luke 11:33)

No man lights a candle and covers it with a container, or puts it under a bed, but rather sets it on a candlestick, so that they who enter may see the light.



Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a basket, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
