Hero For Christ ![]() Barack Obama | The Power of FaithMark 4:37-41 (Matthew:8:24-26, Luke 8:22-25) Behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, so that the ship was covered with the waves. But Jesus was asleep in the back of the ship. So they awoke him, saying: Master, save us or we perish! Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea, saying: Peace, be still. And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. And he said to them: Why were you fearful, you of little faith? And they were afraid, and said to one another: What manner of man is this? He commands even the wind and sea, and they obey him. Mark 5:25 (Matthew 9:20-22) There was a woman, who had bled continuously for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many doctors, and had spent all that she had, but had grown worse instead of better. When she heard of Jesus, she came in the crowd behind him, and touched his garment. For she said: If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be made whole. Immediately the blood dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed. And Jesus, immediately knowing that power had gone forth from him, turned around in the crowd, and said: Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said to him: You see the size of this crowd, and yet you still ask who touched you? Then he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling because she knew what had been done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said to her: Daughter, your faith has made you whole; go in peace, and be cured of your disease. Luke 18:35-43 (Matthew 9:27-30, Mark 10:46-52) As Jesus neared Jericho, he passed a blind man begging by the side of the road. The blind man heard the crowd and asked what it meant. When they told him it was Jesus of Nazareth, he cried out: Jesus, you who are a son of David, have mercy on me. And those were at the head of the crowd rebuked him, telling him to hold his peace, but he only cried louder: You who are a son of David, have mercy on me. So Jesus stopped, and commanded the blind man to be brought near. Then Jesus asked him: What do you want me to do for you? And he said: Lord, may I receive my sight? And Jesus said: Receive your sight: your faith has saved you. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus, glorifying God, and all the people who saw it praised God. John:9:1-7 As Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him: Master, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered: Neither this man nor his parents sinned: he was born blind so that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day. The night is coming, when no man can work. But as long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, and said to him: Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, The blind man went there, and washed, and gained his sight. Mark 9:17-27 (Matthew 17:14 - 18) One of the crowd said to Jesus: Master, I have brought you my son, who has a mute spirit . Whenever it takes him it tears him and he foams at the mouth and gnashes his teeth, and faints. I brought him to your disciples and they could not cure him. Jesus answered: Oh faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you? Bring him to me. And they brought the child, and when he saw Jesus, the spirit took him immediately, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked the father: How long is it since this came to him? And the father said: Since he was a child, and often it throws him into the fire or into the water, so as to destroy him. If you can do anything, have mercy and help us. Jesus said to him: If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes. And immediately the father of the child cried out, and said with tears: Lord, I believe; help my unbelief! When Jesus saw the people running towards them, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying: You mute and deaf spirit, I charge you, come out of him, and enter no more into him. And the spirit cried, and made him convulse, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; so that many said: He is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. Matthew 17:19-21 (Mark 9:28-29) Later, when Jesus came into the house, his disciples asked privately: Why could we not cast him out? And Jesus answered: Because of your unbelief: for truly I tell you, If you have faith as a tiny as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, move, and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. However, this kind comes forth by nothing but prayer and fasting. Matthew 21:18-22 (Mark 11:20-23) Now in the morning Jesus was hungry as he returned to the city. When he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, but found nothing on it but leaves, and said: Let no fruit grow on you from now forwards. And soon, the fig tree withered away. When the disciples saw it they marveled saying: How quickly it has withered. Jesus answered: Truly I tell you, if you have faith without doubt, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but you shall also say to the mountain, be thrown into the sea, and it shall be done. And all things that you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. Things he says shall come to pass, he shall have whatever he says. Luke 17:5-6 And the apostles said unto the Lord: Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If you had faith as tiny as a grain of mustard seed, you might say unto this sycamore tree, Be plucked up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you. ![]() Top ![]() Back ![]() Next |
