Hero For Christ ![]() Barack Obama | God Before All ElseLuke 10:38 Jesus entered a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus feet, and heard his word. But Martha was burdened with the duties of the host, and came to him, and said: Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore to help me. Jesus answered: Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 9:59-62 And Jesus said to another: Follow me. But he said: Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said to him: Let the dead bury their dead: but you go and preach the kingdom of God. And another said: Lord, I will follow you; but let me first go bid farewell to those at home. And Jesus answered: No man who looks back, after having put his hand to the plow, is fit for the kingdom of God Luke:2:42-49 When Jesus was twelve years old, his family went to Jerusalem for the traditional feast. When the holy days were over they returned, but Jesus stayed behind, and Joseph and Mary did not realize it.They traveled a days journey, thinking him to be among their companions, and looked for him with their friends and relatives. But when they could not find him, they returned to Jerusalem. After three days, they found him in the temple, sitting among the scholars, both hearing them and asking questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and his answers. When they saw him, they were amazed, and his mother said: Son why have you treated us this way? Your father and I have been searching desperately for you. And he said: Why would you need to look? Did you not realize I must do my Fathers work? Luke:11:27-28 As he spoke, a certain woman raised her voice, saying: Blessed is the womb that carried you, and the breasts at which you have nursed. But Jesus said: Say rather Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Luke:8:19-20 (Matthew 12:46-47, Mark 3:31-32) Then his mother and brothers came to him, and could not make their way through the crowd. So someone came to him and said Your mother and brothers are outside. Mark:3:33-35 (Matthew 12:48-50, Luke 8:20-21 see also Luke 14:26) And he answered: Who is my mother, or my brothers? And he looked around at those sitting around him and said: Behold my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of God is my brother, and my sister, and mother. ![]() Top ![]() Back ![]() Next |
