Hero For Christ ![]() Barack Obama | Shad Hart![]() Back when I knew the person pictured above, he was Shadrach Swinehart, the resident prankster in my church (Broad Street UMC) youth group. Little did any of us know that he would grow up to be matinee idol "Shad Hart" When I first heard he had become an actor, it surprised me, because he always seemed so "normal" (i.e. not like the actor-types I used to hang out with!). But he's been able to turned that boy-next door image to his advantage in his acting career. Shad has had several notable guest appearances on television, including on "Boston Public" and "3rd Rock from the Sun." He also had a starring role in the family film "Big Brother Trouble", co-starring Mario Lopez ("Saved By the Bell") and Dick Van Patton. Shad is actually the eponymous "big brother", playing a teenager (even though he was --shh!-- actually in his mid-twenties at the time). Shad stars opposite none other that Kate Bosworth in the eponymous comedy short "Advantage Hart". The film was a finalist in the category of "Short Subjects" at the 2003 Hollywood Awards. Shad's biggest role to date was as "Ron Reagan Jr." in the CBS miniseries "The Reagans," starring James Brolin. Unfortunately, political controversies forced it out of its plum position as a primetime sweeps-week offering on broadcast television, and onto the hell that is pay cable. Shad has a "Bacon number" of 2. |
